Tayside Deaf Forum was set up in April 2006 to fight for Deaf
rights in Tayside.
We want to make sure deaf people have the same rights as hearing people in jobs, health and access to information.
The committee is made up of local Deaf people elected at its annual AGM.
It meets about four times a year.
We have helped to make sure that NHS Tayside employ only
QUALIFIED BSL interpreters for all NHS appointments - Hospital, GP and Dentist.
We are trying to make organisations more Deaf friendly so that
Deaf people can use their services by themselves without having to rely on help from friends and family.
We organise talks at the Tayside Deaf Hub about things that
matter to Deaf people.
